When designing an optical system end-to-end in OpticStudio, one of the last steps is to perform stray light analysis to eliminate unwanted noise in the system. Whether a design is completed in Sequential or Non-Sequential Modes, stray light is best analyzed in Non-Sequential Mode, as it allows tracing both reflected and transmitted ray paths simultaneously and can model wide-angle surface scattering.
