Solving errors when accessing an Ansys network license

This article addresses common errors when attempting to start the software when a license is not found or other errors are encountered..

Error - No Ansys products were detected. Check the license settings in the License Utility on the Help tab.”

Check that you are connected to your organization's network (directly or VPN) and the server settings are correct per this article

 

One or more Ansys Zemax products were detected, however the license is expired or unable to be used. Please try again later

This means the license subscription is no longer valid or the license was renewed but not updated on your organization's license server. Contact your IT department, your Zemax account representative or open a Zemax support case for help.

 

Error - One or more Ansys Zemax products were detected, however all licenses appear to be in use. Please try again later."

There are not any available license seats. At least one other user will need to close the software to free up the license seat. Please try again later, or specify another server will licenses if you have one per this article
 

Error - Ansys license initialization failed! Open the License Utility on the Help tab. Select the Licensing Help link to view Zemax support resources

This can mean an error with the built in licensing libraries. Reinstall the application and try again.  

 

Error - Unknown Ansys license client context error. Open the License Utility on the Help tab. Select the Licensing Help link to view Zemax support resources.”
